Elder Care Job in Scarborough, Ontario

My father in law is a very loving, easy going, 82 year old man. He suffers from Parkinson's disease. He is super sharp and likes to keep his mind active. He is an electric engineer by trade. Because of Parkinson's disease his mobility is limited. But he is still very alert and loves to play games, socialize and watch tv. He lives in Scarborough Terrace Retirement Home on 3760 Sheppard Avenue right next to Agincourt Mall on June 10th. He requires assistance in the mornings to help him get out of bed, dressed for the day, medication reminder, make his bed, take out the garbage, tidy his place, weekly laundry, daily stretches, take him for a walk either outside or in the building and assist with breakfast if needed. He is able to prepare breakfast on his own 90% of the time. Keep a journal or record of his daily activities as well as how he is feeling everyday. From time to time (once a quarter), due to his Parkinson's, he may take a fall, so far, we have been lucky and falls have been minor. On those days he needs a little more care and support. We are looking for someone to come from 8am - 11am Monday through Friday, for a total of 15 hours a week. You must be available everyday of the week. As we all work, we are looking for someone who is dependable, can easily get to the home on their own, likes to be social and can keep the family up to date on how he is doing on a regular basis.
