Elder Care Job in La Jolla, California

About The Job: Hello my name is Dan. I'm interviewing for an elder care provider working in La Jolla Shores who is interested in an exchange of caregiving for rent in this house. My Mother, Jacqueline, is 92 and is a total transfer at this point, as she has had severe pnumonia last year, keeps getting UTI's, and is generally low energy and weak. She is on a G-tube and cannot walk. The house is an old fashioned 1937 home in La Jolla Shores, off Torrey Pines Rd and just 5 blocks from La Jolla Shores Beach. It's a great location if you're working at UCSD, Scripps, Veterens, or many of the other medical facilities in La Jolla / UTC. I have my office in the house and stay here most nights in the 3rd bedroom, as I am the primary caregiver. The rest of the time I stay in my other house next door. I need a part-time caregiver who can work evenings and weekends to spell me. The rent is $695 and the hourly pay rate is $13- $14, depending on experience. We try to balance the hours to make this a break-even. The current caregiver is moving out in early July to be closer to a new teaching job. Services And Training: Our home requires help with physical therapy, transfers (we have a Hoyer), simple bowel and personal hygiene care, and support with intellectual disabilities.
