I have 17 years experience in the service industry of healthcare. I supervised/coordinated and directly supported individuals from young adult to seniors with physical and mental disabilities. I have provided hands-on assistance with toileting, grooming, transferring including using lift systems and wheelchairs, meal planning/cooking and feeding including tube feeding plus housekeeping. Administratively I have assisted with annual care planning, goal setting & execution, community access, monthly reports, budgeting/banking, scheduling, charting and documentation. I oversaw all medication administration/wound care and attended medical appointments and all follow up. As a coordinator, I built a team up to 15 staff to assisted individuals within group homes and individuals to live independently in their own apartments providing only essential services. I have acquired a wide range of knowledge on O.C.D, dementia, cerebral palsy, schizophrenia, down syndrome, dysphagia, prader-willi syndrome, paraplegia scoliosis, depression and addictions. Through these 17 years of service I have developed strong skills in organization, stress management, communication, and developing effective teams of staff, family/friends and professionals to provide optimum quality of life.
