Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Provide personal care • Provide companionship • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties • Launder clothing and household linens • Collect specimens • Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder) • Administer bedside and personal care • Change non-sterile dressings • Administer medications, ensure these are taken if and when needed • Prepare and server nutritious meals • Ensure meals are healthy and eaten on time • Assist in feeding • Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk • Assist client with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene • Accompany to and from appointments and outings as needed Requirements: -Education: Some secondary school -Experience: At least a year of full-time experience as a caregiver or personal care attendant is required Salary: $17.50 to $18.50 hourly, 40 – 45 Hours per week Important Information: - The personal care attendant will be responsible for the care of a 97-year old man with dementia, some hearing loss and a history of strokes. - Schedule will be 9:00 to 6:00. Monday to Friday. Position requires flexibility in schedule. - As the position involves high medical needs due to the client’s dementia, and possible on-call duties to make sure he does not wander at night, live-in condition is a mandatory requirement for the job.
