Description of Skills: I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who is moving to the Hendersonville/Fletcher area Sept 5. I am currently working at a skilled nursing facility as a PRN therapist. In the last 6 years I have taken care of 3 elderly residents in my home. I am experienced in Alzheimers/dementia care, recovery from orthopedic surgeries, residents dealing with generalized weakness affecting their ability to perform daily tasks, brain injury, neuro/stroke deficits, and some experience with spinal cord injury. I am able to work with residents that demonstrate difficulty with ambulation and transfers, bathing dressing, cooking, cleaning, recreation, etc...I would also be able to transport residents to appointments as necessary.
