Elder Care Job in Madison, Alabama

Job Description: I'm seeking a personal support worker working in Madison, Alabama who is available Mon/Tues and Thurs/Fri from 9-2 each day for my mother through a Medicaid waiver program. You will be hired through Oxford Health Care in Athens but be assigned to only my mother. To be processed through Oxford Health Care, you will need a recent TB test, valid drivers license, and SS card as they will do a background check. Mom is paralyzed so she needs to be adjusted in bed every two hours, have lunch prepared, medication reminders, catheter bag drained throughout the day, blood sugar checked, and conversation/companionship. She enjoys reading the Bible and Bible studies, doing puzzles, playing games, and using her Kindle. We would like to have someone familiar bedbound patients so that you will be able to dress her and help with using a Hoyer lift so that she can be put into her power wheelchair and transported as necessary. We have a handicapped accessible van for her use. Services And Training: She requires simple physical therapy exercises daily in the bed, bathing twice a week, and dressing/undressing on days when she leaves the house. CNA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
