Elder Care Job in Calgary, Alberta

Full-time, live-in caregiver required to provide personal care to a 68 year old female stroke survivor. She is currently paralyzed on her right side and is in a wheelchair. She will require assistance with the tasks of daily living including, but not limited to, dressing, bathing, toileting, transfers to and from the wheelchair, accompany to out-patient therapy appointments, making meals and light housekeeping. She cannot speak (suffers from both Aphasia and Apraxia) or write but can understand what she hears and reads. We require a caregiver who can speak fluent English, is patient, kind and a good companion. Medical care is not required at this time. She will continue with out patient therapy and over time may gain more independence so her needs may change. Prior to her stroke, she was an active member of the community. It is our hope that through the assistance of a live-in caregiver, she is able to become active again. Live-in care for 68 year old female stroke survivor.
