Meet Margaret My first experience was working in a nursing facility as a teenager, and I found I enjoyed working with seniors. I later was a Home Care Aid, and it was rewarding to help these people with shopping, cleaning, and companionship. On a personal level, my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and she lived with us the last year of her life. So this was a hospice situation. I took care of all her needs. My husband had diabetes, which eventually lead to his losing a leg. He was also on dialysis, and passed away at the age of 59. I was at his side 24/7. Again, taking care of all his needs. I was at his side in a nursing facility for 6 months when they amputated his leg. Taking care of the aged and dying has made a huge impact on me personally. I am at a point in my life where I would like to offer assistance and companionship to people who could use my years of experience and friendship through this difficult part of their life.
