Elder Care in Wilmington, Delaware

I am a 62 year old female who has worked with seniors {including dementia and Alzheimer's residents) in a nursing home setting for the past 17 years in the Wilmington and West Chester areas in the Activities profession. I totally enjoy being with seniors who need assistance with some daily chores and physical and mental needs that they can no longer do on their own. My main responsibility for my job in includes providing activities and a loving and caring environment to basically enrich their unfortunately sometimes long and lonely days. In this day and time people have forgotten how much they can contribute and how much we can learn from them. Some of my duties entail playing games(especially Bingo) board games, crafts, writing letters for them, reading, giving hand massages and manicures {the ladies love them) taking walks outside or just sitting on the patio with them reminiscing and just having conversations with them. I am looking for 20 to 30 hours starting anytime in the late afternoon or evening hours till whenever in the Wilmington area. Holidays and weekends are no problem I have been doing it for so long! I am. not a CNA, am looking for a position that the main interest is companionship, light housekeeping, running errands if needed and giving medications with your written permission only!
