My name is Kelly. I’m a natural caregiver at heart. I’ve cared for young children in a daycare setting and I was a nanny for 3 years. But over the past 4 years I’ve been caring for both of my grandmothers, one of which passed but I had the honor of being there to help care for her so she could stay in her home for as long as possible before she finally had to go into a nursing home. My other grandmother is in an assisted living home and I have been helping care for her even before she had to leave home. But since being in the assisted living facility I’ve noticed how rude, impatient, and disrespectful some of the techs treat those people. And it infuriates me. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a caregiver for elderly people instead of children. Because I see that there is a shortage of kind and loving caregivers when it comes to the elderly. I wanted my grandmother to be treated with dignity, respect, love, care and compassion that she deserved. And I can promise I will treat your loved one like they are my own grandmother/father.
