Elder Care Job in Mississauga, Ontario

Hi there! Our family is looking for a roommate to live in with our elderly mother. She has a nice, bright and spacious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo in Mississauga. The condo itself has an indoor and outdoor pool, a library, tennis court, underground parking and other amenities. It is across the street from a shopping center with a grocery store, steps from restaurants, and the GO Station. Our hope is to have a single female, who is preferably retired, or a student with a PSW/Nursing background to live in with her. Our mother is in her late 70’s and is beginning to slow down and show signs of mild dementia, however she is very routine oriented and can still manage basic self-care on her own. Currently she has a personal support worker who comes during the daytime throughout the week and on weekends to provide care. They assist with meals, housecleaning duties, take her for outings and manage her personal grooming etc. Her children also visit during the week to provide groceries, and organize her daily medications. Our expectation of the live in roommate would be that they act as companion and converse with our mother in the evenings, and provide assistance with any small tasks she may request, such as, working the television, making phone calls, regulating the heat, etc. In exchange, we would be willing to provide very low rent costs. Our mother is a lovely, kind and charismatic woman. She loves music, singing, dancing and her tele. She is passionate about animals and enjoys spending time playing with her 3 grandchildren.
