This job would start in JANUARY You must be HINDI speaking, vegetarian, HARD WORKING, very caring and be able to travel to keele and Bloor in under an hour. I need you to be on time to follow and establish routines that care for both my parents. PSW should offer a range of support services, including: 1)Establish clear routines with client - go over what day it is, what’s happening in the news, ground clients in current events and help with a regular journal exercise. 2)Emotional and Social support- • engage in meaningful conversations- talk about college life, life in Canada and job, where did they travelled in their lives. → these meaningful conversations help to reduce feelings of isolation. 3)Health Monitoring - observe and report any changes in health and behavior, especially memory • Take care or their feet sometime prolong sitting leads to edema . •medication management- record the client medication intake, and always recheck the blister pack. 4)daily living Assistance - * Encourage them to wear different cloths : like we can say that aunty your tops are beautiful.I want to see you in this different colour every day. • Put feet in warm water and elevate to reduce swelling. Apply lotion on legs 5) exercise and physical activity- • Assist with physical exercise and mobilty activities • observe while going downstairs on the stairs and in the bathroom. Please wipe down surfaces and ensure all areas are always clean. 6 Work environment - This position involves working in home, ensuring comfort and familiarity. create house environment like your own house. Feel comfortable but be busy with either activities and engaging both seniors. • Encourage creativity & explore different colors for art. Show different birds or pictures/images on phones to select colours for drawing. 7) Assist and/or initiate meal preparation as both uncle and aunty loves their traditional Punjabi food. Must be able to cook parathas, poha, sabjis without instructions. Must be vegetarian and efficient/neat in kitchen. 8) Discuss Interests 9) housekeeping: bedroom, washrooms, sitting area, and always take out garbage from all bins. 10)Talk about spiritual places and practice some medication exercises. 11) Encourage being outside, fresh air & healthy habits. 12)Active listening and constant engagement with sensitivity and readiness to work with client needs. I really require someone who is reliable and also flexible. If we have an appointment, I will reschedule you to wkd. Will do my best to give you 20hrs a week reliably. 6. I require a mature person who is willing to keep busy when you are here, not be on your phone, not sit idly, not snoop around. I need someone reliable who works for 4 hrs and very trustworthy. You need to be someone who enjoys being in someone’s house and looking after it and elders. $18/hr. You would be looking after both my parents who are 80 years old in my house, on the second floor. My dad is mobile and my mom has limited mobility. He doesn’t require the same level of care as he sleeps a lot and may have a day program so my mom’s care, cooking and cleaning will be your primary tasks. I really need reliability, honesty, someone who enjoys helping seniors engage in activity, is excellent about cleaning up without being told. It’s not hard but you need to be diligent.
