Elder Care Job in Welland, Ontario

Job Posting: Hi there my name is Amy. I'm looking for a live-in caregiver for my mom living in Welland, Ontario. Two big, beautiful rooms and a private bath available in a large home. My mother has rheumatoid arthritis, mobility issues and is currently recovering from a torn rotator cuff. We require care for light housekeeping (laundry, emptying dishwasher, etc), some toileting (assistance pulling up pants, help with commode), exercises (in home, going for short walks when it is nice outside), groceries and transportation to appointments (a car is provided). Most importantly my mom just needs motivation to push herself, companionship, and help climbing stairs a few times a day to get to the bathroom. She is very independent, and does not require a lot of care, but she does need someone to be around for safety and motivation. Details: My family requires personal care. My mom is a lovely, kind woman who loves and respects caregivers (she was one herself). She needs support to be able to stay in her home and someone to encourage her to stay active and take care of herself. We need someone who can act as a companion who can be firm with her when she wants to take it easy on herself. Other Availability: Ideally we are looking for a live-in caregiver (room and board will be included). My mom is high functioning, smart and friendly, but has difficulty motivating herself when left alone.
