Elder Care Job in Suffern, New York

Our family is very involved in our moms caregiving. Looking for a compassionate, patient, competent companion for our mother as soon as possible. Our mother is a very sweet, adorable 83 year old woman, who has some memory loss and difficulty walking without her walker. She lives alone in Montebello, NY and has one aide that’s been with us for a long time. We are in search of a second aide to cover a variety of shifts. Our family is part of a program called CDPAP, which is a family centered program that has the family choose who they want to use as an aide for their elderly parent. It often entails a family member, good friend, neighbor, etc. to be paid for taking care of a loved one. We joined this type of service in order for our family to be involved in the hiring, training, scheduling, etc. process, instead of the agency making the choices for us! This position would require someone to sign up with the payroll agency (Marquis Home Health) as a CDPAP aide and pays $15.00 an hour on the books. Requirements: Female. Valid Drivers License - w/ or w/o a car, requiring some local driving to appointments 2 prior work references. Speak and write English competently. Has access to smartphone or home computer for sending and/or receiving messages Additional job responsibilities like Laundry, Light cleaning, Cooking meals, Food shopping and planning meals. Can move around a wheelchair and walker for a woman who does not need lifting. Can take turns.
