Employers’ address: Farley Crescent, Toronto, ON Work Location: same as above Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Provide personal care • Shop for food and household supplies • Provide companionship • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties • Mend clothing and linens • Launder clothing and household linens • Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens • Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder) • Prepare and serve nutritious meals • Take client to meetings and doctor’s appointments • Assist clients with some aspects of personal hygiene • Administer medication • Administer bedside and personal care Requirements: -Education: Completion of high school is required -Experience: At least one year of full-time experience as a caregiver or personal care attendant is required -Valid driver’s license is required -Basic ASL knowledge is an asset -Occasional evening and weekend work may be required Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly, 30 Hours per week Benefits: Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate Important Information: - The home support worker will be responsible for the care of a 78-year-old man who needs assistance in everyday-life tasks and for the help in the care needed of a 17-year-old girl with special needs who communicates using sign language, is deaf and needs assistance to walk and keep her personal hygiene habits - No latex and no band-aids allowed - Work schedule: 5 days per week, split shifts from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
