Elderly care was not something I imagined myself pursuing as a career but an opportunity arose and I found myself caring for a friend's grandmother and boy was she a hard one to please, she had dementia (mildly) which at the time I knew nothing about other than my own grandma had had it as well. I had so much empathy for Gladys I knew it was so hard for her to not be able to do things for herself anymore. I found a lot of joy being able to make her happy and that's how I knew this is what I am meant to do. I am a good cook and I specialize in preparing healthy meals for memory care patients.
