Basic Job Description: Provide routine, personal healthcare, such as bathing, dressing, or grooming, to elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons in the home of patients Aide" 1) Change dressings. 2) Perform a variety of duties as requested by client, such as obtaining household supplies and running errands. 3) Accompany clients to appointments 4) Administer prescribed oral medications under written direction of physician or as directed by home care nurse and aide. 5) Care for children who are disabled or who have sick or disabled parents. Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems in order to report and discuss observations with a supervisor or case manager. 6) Provide patients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming. 7) Preparing healthy meals, independent living, and adaptation to disability or illness. 8)Change bed linens, wash and iron patients' laundry 9)Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to patients to keep them mentally healthy and alert. 10)Plan, purchase, prepare, and serve meals to patients 11)Check patients' pulse, temperature and respiration. 12)Active Listening -- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. 13)Service Orientation -- Actively looking for ways to help people. Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
