I first started working in the Health Care field in April of 2014 and I am currently working with a client who has Parkinson's. I am currently attending UFV part time to upgrade a few courses for their Health Care Assistance program. And in the future am wanting to go back to school for nursing, in the Neonatal and ER departments. I have a great passion for working with both elderly and the Physically Disabled. Being able to provide a sense of independence to those who either can't or are having a great difficulty maintaining there current one; brings me a great sense of joy. I have worked as a Personal Support Worker for a young lady who has CP and was working with second with Multiple Organ failure, up until her last days. I am currently working as a Care Aide for a client who has Parkinson's Disease. Throughout working with my numerous clients I have been able to adapt and learn hands on training individualizing to each of their needs. Guiding me through their every day living routines, I have been trained with Floor Transfer Lifts, Oxygen needs, Personal Hygiene, ADL's, Urinary Diversion Care and Flushing techniques, some Medication, light house hold chores, and dressing and bathing. My current client is a lot more independent. I have been assisting her in her daily Parkinson's exercises, both physical and vocal. While assisting her in her daily household chores, helping out where I can as the needs arise. I am confident that my experience and skills outlined will bring a great addition to you’re team.
