Who I Am: Nice to meet you! My name is Leslie.I am hoping to find full time employment as an elderly care provider..... the Wentzville St Louis Missouri area. I am willing to travel an hour and a half or so from home. Services And Training: I am certified as a Restorative Aide and Nursing assistant.I have over ten years of experience in Nursing home, Rehabilitation and in home care. I have assisted the elderly and younger and mentally challenged .I have worked with residents with dimentia and Alzheimer's disease.Sundowning,amputees,stroke and heart attack victims and Hospice.I work hard to provide outstanding qaulity care of daily living and activities with the respect and dignity your loved one(s) deserve.I truly enjoy what I do and can provide excellent references and work history.I can provide ROM,strengthening exercises.Can help improve mobility,ambulation transfers contractures and over all qaulity of life.I enjoy one on one and respite time with my residents/clients I refer to them as my extended family because I do care for them physically and emotionally and I will provide the best all around care just as I would my loved ones.I enjoy hearing the stories of days gone by and the wisdom from years of life experiences.I love to watch them smile ,hear them laugh and see that twinkle in their eye when they look back and share their life's ups and downs.Struggles and accomplishments.Laugh with them or comfort them....praising the good they've done or drying a tear and giving a hug and an I'm so sorry for the difficult and hard times they have gone through.I have worked for years in facilities and loved my job but I am leaving the very fast paced,stressful and multitasking environment of caring for 20 residents at once.I would love the opportunity to care for one or two people in their home or family's home.Age or gender doesn't matter.Physical or mental status not an issue.I have the same goals as you and those goals are to provide the best care foryour loved one(s) with the dignity and respect they deserve.I am reliable.Honest.Hard working.And I truly love what I do.I have a kind heart and I take great pride in assisting with and being a part of helping anyone live and maintain the highest possible qaulity of life .I will assist and do what your lived one can't and I will stronglyl encourage them to do the things they can .If they are safely capable I'm going to encourage them to do whatever it is.Little things add up to bigger things.I believe if you don't use it you lose it.One day in bed and you lose three percent of your body strength!As a CNA and Restorative Aide I know the importance of letting them do what they can.Never want to take anything away.Putting on socks and shoes.Even if it takes a while because the hands shake or the back doesn't bend as well or the fingers don't work like they use to..... they are willing and capable..let them do it!They might tell you stories you've heard before while taking a break putting those shoes on.Its okay! Patience.Understanding.Encouragement.Compassion.Dignity.
