I am a Filipina-Canadian nurse with 4 yrs RN full time pediatric/acute adult medicine hospital experience and 8 years full time LPN acute medicine, rehab, stroke, and geriatric experience in Canada. Skills include basic bedside nursing care and assessment, vital signs monitoring ,administer oral and IV/IM medications and assess clients' reactions, tube feeding, oral suctioning, safe client care and transfers, ambulation, and mobilization, basic and complex wound care, food and fluid intake/output monitoring. As a bedside nurse, I am able to monitor and notice clients' symptoms and changes in conditions, take and maintain accurate and detailed reports, and understand Doctor's orders and instructions specific for the client. I also have a 5 year exposure as a Tertiary level Palliative bedside nurse in the community hospital, hence my experience in providing quality care for clients with terminal illness, providing relief from pain, ensuring peaceful atmosphere, comfortable quality end of life with dignity. This experience helped me develop my compassion, empathy, and passion as a nurse, improve my ability to listen to my clients and advocate for them. Given that I have a 2 year experience in the academe as a Clinical instructor in the Philippines, I have an excellent interpersonal communication skills and would say my command for the English language is solid, as English is the medium of instruction back home.
