Elder Care in Santa Cruz, California

I took care of my mom in the last years of her life (she passed away in 2013 at the age of 92) by visiting her often, taking her out of her apartment so she would feel that she has interaction with people, playing cards with her, LISTENING TO HER, and doing her shopping for her. There was another caregiver that provided some of the physically strenuous work such as giving baths, changing clothes, getting her in and out of bed, etc. I provided the emotional support (companionship) and did shopping for groceries, clothes and miscellaneous items, plus errands and other light work. I also read her poetry as she enjoyed listening to that and I enjoyed reading this to her. I feel that seniors need emotional support as much as they do physical support. With my education in Spiritual Psychology, I can provide the compassion and understanding that they deserve--from a companion and at this stage of their lives.
