Elder Care Job in Arlington, Massachusetts

Hi there! We are looking for an easy-going person to help my father in-law. He has Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s but gets around pretty well and has a good sense of humor. We need an experienced Home Health Aide just to change in the afternoon and at night M-F and then morning shower, afternoon and night on Sat/Sun. We are quite flexible on the times of day as long as it’s reasonable for his wellbeing. It would be ideal to offer this as a very reduced rent for the room and access to the rest of the house. You can still work elsewhere if you like. We’ve had several successful homeshare experiences but have not tried this with a Home Health Aide yet. We live in a charming Victorian 2-family home in the heart of Arlington Center. Next to Mass Ave, bike path, library, stores, restaurants, parks, public transportation, anything you need or want. Room Details: Spacious bedroom 14x14.5 ft. High ceilings, hardwood floors, furnished or unfurnished. Arrangement: Cheap rent for a 1/2 hr/per change and however long it takes for the shower in addition on Sat/Sun mornings. Somewhere around 10hrs a week. Negotiable hourly rate to count towards rent. We really just want someone good that is trustworthy, experienced and likes what they do. My in-laws are a friendly and caring retired couple in their early 70’s who over the years helped many others in need. They enjoy visits spend time with kids/grandkids. My mother in-law is independent. Their typical day is to sit and, we atch TV, read, and have tea. We are flexible but structured and would create an agreement. We really would like someone kind, patient, trustworthy, reliable. Has good communication skills and knows how to share a home. We would do a trial for a mutually agreed amount of time to start.
