Elder Care in Shoreline, Washington

Although most of my 30 years of experience has been with transportation, I come from a part of Denmark where coach and shuttle bus drivers were required to be cross trained in the transport and handling of elderly patients and patients with physical/mental/social handicaps. (I also did receive actual home health training in Denmark in the 1990s). From 2015 until 2017 both my wife and I lived in with an elderly couple (My wife's 90-year old grandparents) who were suffering from dementia: He had blended dementia (vascular and Alzheimer's) while she had Alzhemer's. We received material support from the Kaiser Permanente Memory Clinic in Roseville, California. I handled the day to day care of the husband, while my wife usually handled the day to day care of her grandmother. I am looking for full time hours, and am willing to spend a night or two over when required. I am an excellent cook, and have a very firm opinions on nutrition, cleanliness and structure. Being Danish, I'm proud of my country's world renown tradition of caring for its elderly citizens. I firmly believe in giving the elderly the chance to be as independent as possible as long as it makes sense to. I'm looking to work in Washington state, British Columbia or Alberta.
