Elder Care in Tyler, Texas

My name is Marie Styron and I am sixty-three years old. I taught special education in Tyler ISD and the nearby East Texas area for thirty-seven years. I am a semi-retired teacher. looking for employment throughout the summer and possibly through the next year. I am widowed with two grown children and three grandchildren. Tyler is my home and I am looking for additional income that substitute teaching does not pay for during the summer months. Retirement is not adequate for my expenses. One of my first jobs at the end of my freshman year at Abilene Christian University. was working with female geriatric patients at Terrell State Hospital in Terrell, Texas. My mom and step-father worked at Terrell State Hospital. and I needed a summer job. I helped feed, bathe and dress the ladies, as well as escort them to the clinic, et cetera. On Sundays, I would wash, dry and curl their hair. This was not required, but Sundays were slow, so I liked to give them extra attention. My bachelor's and master's degrees were in elementary education, with a minors in psychology and special education. I also worked at Abilene State School as an aide, i.e.; feeding, bathing and dressing men and boys that were severely and profoundly . I worked here for two years during my undergraduate work. I love working with people and I am a good cook as well.
