Hi. I am a certified PSW. I have 17 years experience as a PSW--both in Long Term Care and Home Care. I am 56 years of age. Being closer to being a senior myself, many in my care have appreciated my not being too young because they felt more comfortable with me and I could connect with them as well. I am looking for an opportunity to be of value to a senior in the community. I would love to spend 2-3 days per week with and individual, be it in their home or in LTC. I could serve as a companion, help with meals, personal care or some light housekeeping. I recognize a need for additional support and attention needed for a senior in LTC due to the extensive workload of the staff. Many of the residents under my care also had an addtional PSW coming in for a few hours of one on one time.
