Elder Care in Stratford, Ontario

I am a mature, responsible person and a trained reflexologist. I am a natural caregiver. I understand the body and aging. I am interested in part time work with the elderly to compliment my lifestyle and to use the gifts I have in working and caring for others. I am a mother and a grandmother, a homemaker and a past farmer. I have also worked as a support worker with special needs adults integrating them into the community to places such as the library, the YMCA, and volunteer placements. I am a capable and practical cook, and a thorough cleaner. I have worked in a nursing home many years ago as a support worker. I have much in common with many folks because of the practical lifestyle I have lived. I also visit 2 local nursing homes once a month on behalf of our local church. I enjoy the conversation and the wisdom of the elderly and I am sympathetic to the losses and struggles that occur as people age and lose their independence and strengths. I am conscious of boundaries, and strive to respect other people's personal boundaries. We will all age and we must never forget that we may walk the same walks as them. I have faith of my own, but I respect other people's faiths and do not try to change them. In my spare time I like to read, to walk my dog, to hang out with my family, especially the grandchildren. I enjoy music, there is always a song in my heart. I have taken training in listening and I will listen carefully to what is expected and desired from all aspects to those I am placed responsible for! I am strong and in good shape. I have a sense of humor and I embellish life. I am 56 years old and have life experiences to help me understand others.
