Elder Care in Kelowna, British Columbia

I have extensive experience in taking care of the elderly, as I have volunteered in the hospice care at KGH, cared for many sick and elderly individuals in nursing homes as volunteer work out of our Leadership Excellence Committee at OKM, and for the last three years lived with my elderly, physically disabled grandma. She has type two diabetes and dementia, and I have helped care for her by administering medication, cooking low sugar meals, baking treats occasionally to cheer her up, helping her up and down the stairs, helping her bathe, helping her dress, helping her communicate through phone and email, taking her on outings every week on her electric tricycle for assistance and movement, walking with her with stability poles to the grocery store, gardening and taking care of all yardwork, in addition to completing all household chores such as laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dishes, and dusting. I understand from personal experience that having a relationship with an elderly person is something to be cherished and held with dignity.
