For the last two plus years I have worked with a healthy and active 92 year old to her passing at 94. Initially I mostly worked as her personal assistant, taking her to doctor appointments, shopping with her, doing light housekeeping, changing her beddings and laundry, making meals, and helping her pay bills. We would go to physical therapy biweekly, and I would practice and encourage her to do her exercise at home. We would go for walks, and sit and have coffee. This transitioned in the last year to acting as the family advocate when she was admitted to the hospital for 10 days last February followed by 6 weeks at a skill nursing facility where I made sure she received her daily physical therapy and occupational therapy. As well as making sure her need were met with nursing staff. After her returned home we had weekly visits from a CNA / home health aide and I learned those CNA skills of bed bath, showing, diapering, transfers, exercise in bed, and administrating all her medications, eye drops, and vital signs. So I kept a daily log for over a year documenting her daily progress. I am a very positive and optimistic person who loves to work and be with people and help them in their daily life. I also love dogs, children, and grandchildren.
