I provide companionship and excellent personal care for our Elders and those that are home-bound. I will spend quality time with your loved ones, engaging in whatever activities they enjoy, while offering support, caretaking, and gentle redirections, when needed. See below for qualifications. I have extensive experience and training working with older populations. I worked as a Direct Support Professional providing home health support for 5 years. I cared for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in their own homes and assisted them with activities of daily living, including grooming, housekeeping, medication management, cooking, and companionship. I have worked with people experiencing memory loss, decreased mobility or loss of mobility, dementia, Alzheimer's, mealtime challenges, and a variety of health needs. I earned my degree in Developmental Psychology, which allowed me to take several classes on the physical and mental changes we all go through as we grow older. After college, I worked for 6 years in Behavioral Health and then 6 years in education. I am transitioning into trying to work from home, building my own schedule for the needs of my family. So, I can be flexible. I hold certifications in Mealtime Challenges, Physical Assistance, Case Management, CPR/First Aid, and more! Having been raised by my great grandparents and then caring for them when the time came, I have a deep respect for elders and will treat your family member like my own. I enjoy spending time with seniors and learning about their lives and hear stories about the past.
