Elder Care in Edmonton, Alberta

My work has predominately been in the field working with high need/behavior, developmentally challenged, often non verbal, adults. Some if whom were elderly. I would love to transition to elder care. I advanced from a homecare worker to homecare practitioner and eventually to team leader in which I had a staff of twelve and six spectacular individuals who I would advocate to my fullest ability for. My true joy however comes from working one on one with people. I worked with a high behavioural autistic gal for two of my four years and in that time I taught her how to swim, found and worked alongside her with a volunteer placement, went on outings daily with her. My resposiblilities included all aspects of daily living. I cared deeply for her and realize being in management regardless of the monetary increase is not my calling. Individual care is the rewarding and fulfilling work I aim for. Thank you for taking the time to read my description. ?
