Hello my name is Roderick. I am a private elder care companion provider living in Port Credit - Mississauga who is knowledgeable and can help you in any way possible. I am an experienced and retired occupational therapist here in Canada with degree in Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Has training in Facial and Foot Reflexology, First Aid, CPR and Gentle Persuasive Approach. Recent Vulnerable Sector Check completed. My experience and skills are in home and community respite care with emphasis on implementing daily therapeutic ADL and home care programs for clients with acquired brain injury, developmental, dementia, geriatric and medical complex needs. Great collaborator and liaison with clients, family and other community partners regarding client care. Please contact me if you are interested (requires minimum of 2 hours per respite service/visit). Able to provide Respite and Caregiving support which includes: • Companionship • Light Housekeeping • Prevent wandering / Safety checks / supervision • Redirection / prompting/cueing • Light meal preparation / meal set up / help with eating • Assistance with Grocery shopping • Daily Exercises / Community Walks • Vital signs / Health Monitoring • Assistance/supervision in Community Exploration or Re-integration • Supervision / assistance with personal hygiene / dressing / undressing • Scheduling appointments and or care coordination • Explore or make other community referrals • Medication reminders / assist with medication (must be in blister packs only) • Coordinates /collaborates with rehab team (in-hospital or Nursing home) regarding plan of care. • Accompany or transportation to day programs, malls, supermarket or medical appointments if needed • Provides Supplemental / Restorative Care Exercises & Activities (In-Home, Group Home, Nursing Home) • Provides calming and relaxation strategies like foot reflexology
