Elder Care in Toronto, Ontario

My name is Madhu Sudan Kadel. I am from one of the small village of Kavre, Nepal. I am 34 years old. I have completed my bachelor’s degree.I have my father, mother, younger sister, younger brother and grand parents in my family. I like to dance and sing. I am interested in reading books. I am also good at studying. My other hobbies include listening to music, trying different cuisines, making new friends and travelling to new places. I am a fun loving person. I am friendly and kind to others and want to keep very smooth relationship with whomever I meet. I am always ready to help the needy one. Also, I am a kind of person who likes to take my responsibilities sincerely and faithfully.I respect elders and love to see them being happy and I think I am qualified to be a care giver for the elder people because I have that love and passion for elders that is very important in this job. Similarly, I have few care giver experiences from my own home,which had helped me to know and understand elders well, know their likes and dislikes and also their behavioral patterns. I believe in creating warm and smooth relationship and keep people satisfied through my work. The first Elder-care job I did was in 2012 with the family of Pashupati Kshetra Bikas Kosh, where old orphanage elder sheltered. There are several kinds of behavioral elders staying. Most important things in elder care/Au Pair is that to know about his and her behavioral aspects and changes. I had to look after them either they were fine or they were in trouble. They were Loving, active and a happy by their age. They loved to play Harmonium, singing prays, interact each other and loved going various Temple for prays. They also liked to dance and sing a song of god (in Nepali is called Bhajan). Responsibilities: I was responsible for elder's everyday activities. I had to help him/her with his everyday work. Following are some of the responsibilities that I had to take care of: i. Taking him to outside and bringing him back to home ii. Preparing his/her lunch and help to having it. iii. Washing his/her clothes and cleaning up his room. iv. Taking him/her to bath and maintaining his/her hygiene. v. Staying with him/her fulfill their needs and taking him/her for a walk if they need.
