Hi my name is Cheryl, and I am a Professional Registered Nurse who provides private home care services for the elderly. I love helping others and l find l connect well with the elderly. l am friendly, compassionate, very personable, and I have my moments of hilarity!!. My nursing experience is quite extensive and l have had many different nursing roles: Med-Surgical floor nurse, Charge Nurse, Dialysis Specialist, Colon Screening Nurse, Mental Health Nurse and Lymphedema Specialist. I live in Oliver, BC and my services are for those who live in Oliver, Osoyoos or Okanagan Falls. I LOVE taking care of elderly clients, engaging in stimulating conversations, meaningful activities, and walks in the neighbourhood, if the senior is able. For many seniors they live alone and struggle with major health issues. In older adults, loneliness is associated with a 45% increased risk of death. The effect of loneliness is comparable to other known risk factors for mortality, including obesity and smoking. Spending time with seniors and making them feel special, connected, not forgotten or abandoned gives them hope, comfort, a sense of well-being, a purpose for living, and puts a BIG SMILE on their faces which brings me GREAT JOY!!
