Who I Am: Hi there my name is Joan. I am searching for a senior care work in Silvis Illinois area. I plan to contribute my abilities as a senior care provider, I must state that working with elderly is my passion besides being a mother. I have a very big heart and it’s more then a job or paycheck to me to help seniors. But with 3 kids and single mom I would love to find a flexible schedule Ideally while there in school 8-3. Summer 5pm-11pm. Or something close unless it’s kids friendly home. They are between 8-11 years and 2 girls 1 boy! They love watching me work my dream career!! And have gained extra grandmas and grandpas too from going to work with me! I’ve always thought about doing in home care so it’s more one on one through family because I don’t travel. when working with elderly I treat them as they are my own family and I go above and beyond my duties to help. Catheter bag change. On top of this, I have extensive prior history in the role when working in assisted living facility, all hands on training! My heart n soul goes into this career, I have 3 children that loved meeting my residents and spending time with them at facility. I have always put my residents a top priority in my job. To me a job in nursing is not a job nor paycheck it’s pride, it’s passion, you have to have the heart for it. it’s love for someone eles mother father aunt uncle grandpa etc. and I always treat them as if they were my own family. I’ve also worked in memory care but I am not as experienced in it. I’ve held hands and stayed by bedside of the weak and dying and I get very close to my residents. People have said it’s my down fall after seeing the pain of them passing, that I shouldn’t get to close and bond. I say it’s not only a privilege, but an honor to get to know them and work with them. even though I am sad I know their last days they where comfortable & to know I had the pleasure of spending there last days with them & for them to know some one was there and they were loved, makes me at ease with there passing, I’ve seen a lot of residents families come and go daily and some never see family except holiday’s and some never.
