Elder Care in Chesterfield, Virginia

Hello, my name is Corey Lynn but I go by Lynn. Thank you for taking the time to consider me as a caregiver for your precious family member. I am a retired LPN with 35 total years of caregiving and nursing experience, 3 years as a CNA prior to nursing school, and 32 years as LPN. I have extensive geriatric experience, both as staff nurse and in the charge nurse capacity, correctional experience at the state level as staff nurse and later as the Assistant Head of Infection Control at a 7000 inmate state facility, in home, private duty nursing care for children and adults, and as charge nurse in a group home for psychiatrically disturbed youth, ages 6-13. I retired from nursing officially in 2010, however, in 2013, I moved in with my older, maternal cousin to provide nursing and personal care for her; she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in 2004, and was in the late stages by 2013 and unable to care for herself any longer. I remained as her live in caregiver until her death in December 2014. In early 2015, I began work as a home health aide for an elder gentleman who had suffered a stroke; his wife needed assistance with his care in the morning and at bedtime due to her own cardiac issues. I cared for another elder couple during that time also, a few hours each day... both had been diagnosed with cancer, and I was providing the wife moderate help with her personal needs, the husband, less so, as he was not as ill as his wife. I also provided meal preparation and light housekeeping for them as well. For personal reasons I moved back to the area in September 2015 and would love to have another awesome person to help.
