Elder Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan

I am a semi-retired business professional who has recently changed courses and is now caring for the aged. My tender experience taking care of my mother through the years can be now transferred to taking care of your mother! I helped share the responsibility of taking care of my mom with my siblings until she was 86. I wanted her to stay at her home as long as she could, so I helped with her chores, going to the store with her (or alone), helping with housework, assisting her with her bath, and spending time with her as companionship. Unfortunately, she had a major stroke at age 86 and was unable to return home. She spent the next five years in a nursing home, where I visited her throughout the week. While there, I helped assist the workers, making sure she was drinking her water and Ensure, taking her to the bathroom when the aides were too busy, and spending hours talking to her. I am now looking for another elderly woman to help care for on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I am also available to work on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays every other week...I have a second job. I can be that loving support to your loved one, checking on and caring for her, and helping to keep her safe. I am immediately available, responsible and have flexible hours. I am also reliable (missed less than 5 days of work in 22 years with my previous employer), and empathetic toward the needs of seniors.
