Elder Care in Dubuque, Iowa

Hello! My name is Lisa,and I am 54yrs.young! I have lived in Dubuque,Iowa for 47 years. I am a proud mother of 3 and a grandmother of 5. My family share a close and very loving relationship. My mother(deceased) was my best and dearest friend. In her 70's she began to show signs of dementia. In time she would lose her sense of balance and fall without warning. She was unable to get back on her feet by herself and on one occasion she laid on her kitchen floor for two days before help finally arrived! The Doctors recommended placing her in a facility that was capable of providing her with 24/7 care. That was not an option for me! My mother deserved to be cared for in the comfort and privacy of her own home! I became my mothers in- home,daily care provider! I assisted her in her daily living skills(bathing,cooking,cleaning,taking prescribed meds.,errands,etc.) I feel fortunate that I was able to do for my mother the same thing she chose to do for me many years ago. That is the reason I am apply how dole the job you have recently posted. I believe I am exactly what you are looking for. I know what is required and expected of a caregiver. Beyond the physical sense a caregiver needs patience, understanding,and true compassion when caring for the elderly. It is extremely important to always remember....young or old we are all human beings and deserve the respect to be treated as such!
