Elder Care in Nanaimo, British Columbia

I have recently graduated from the Social Service Program at VIU. I am now an aspiring nursing student. I completed my practicum at the Ladysmith Resource Centre Association, where I worked in a variety of programs providing services to the community of Ladysmith. Including; working with at risk and/or disadvantaged individuals, all ages, private counselling sessions and the execution of group programs. I also have over a year of experience caring for an elderly female in her home. I was responsible for assisting her in carrying out her daily activities and helping with personal hygiene. I am a caring individual and am passionate about working closely with people to provide them with the help that they may require. I am also looking to use my education and knowledge as well as gaining experience for my future educational goals. I appreciate any opportunity to expand upon my skills and knowledge. Personal in home care of a 90 year old female, duties included: personal hygiene, regulation of medication, meal preparation, transportation, household tasks and daily activities. January 2011 - March 2012.
