Elder Care in Hamilton, Ontario

Hi there! My name is Brittany and I LOVE seniors. Three words that describe me are: compassionate, fun spirited and genuine. I went to university for childhood and family studies, but had a life-changing experience one summer volunteering with seniors and I am now pursuing a diploma in recreation therapy. I hope to use my education to work in a seniors home or long-term-care centre after I graduate this December. I find that seniors are so wise and I really feel that we as a society fail to incorporate them and fully appreciate them. I would love to find some daytime work this summer so that I can do what I love, interact with and care for seniors! I would love to here from you! I helped with the activation team which lead recreational activities that focused on enhancing (mostly) senior's lives physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. I helped give residents hand massages, organize fun activities and outings, chat and connect with them bedside, etc. This experience actually made me fall in love with seniors and I'm now pursuing a recreation therapy diploma so I can work in a long term care center or retirement home.
