Hi I am a 62 year old senior who loves helping other seniors. I have 10 years experience in being a companion to seniors, which includes things like bathing, cooking, laundry and any daily chores that the senior may need some help with. I love doing this job and I get alot of happiness in doing this. I have worked as a volunteer with the Kwansis Boys and Girls Club when my own children were youngsters. I enjoy spending time with the seniors and hearing their stories of old times, or reading to them the newspaper or some book that they enjoy. I have worked as a companion for the last 10 years. I have worked for an agency and also on my own. I have taken care of seniors with alzheimers,dementia, and also bedridden seniors. I have helped seniors in staying longer in their homes with helping with their everyday needs,as bathing, cooking, laundry and just being a companion to them. I like to work overnight shifts or to stay with a senior for 2 or 3 consecutive days and than be off for the rest of the week. I am very flexible in my schedule for working.
