Hello there! My name is Carolyn and I am a recent graduate in Gerontology and Health & Aging from McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. I recently moved to Montreal and I am very passionate about Gerontology and Elder care as it is my end career goal. I have worked in many Long-Term Care homes and I have gained experience from working with dementia patients one-on-one in many settings. I also have experience working with special needs adults. I am a caring, patient, and compassionate person. I am hoping to go back to school for a second degree in nursing, but in the mean time I am looking to help out the aging community to gain experience in any way possible. I have worked one-on-one with dementia care patients of varying degrees, implementing my own memory strengthening exercises and evaluating progress weekly. Additionally, I have helped out in a few retirement homes with housekeeping duties and meals. I have worked closely with the elderly and have been exposed to difficult and often frustrating diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
