Hello, My name is Barb and I am a Certified Personal Support Worker. I have years of experience working in long term care, supportive housing and with clients in the community. Some of my experience includes working with children, adults and seniors with physical disabilities. I have extensive knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's. I have worked with many clients with diverse needs. Some of the clients I have worked with have had aquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CP, and MS. I am skilled in lifts and transfers and all aspects of personal care and supporting people with activities of daily living. I have taken advantage of many training opportunities to further my knowledge as a PSW. I am certified in CPR. I have taken training courses in palliative care, dementia care, gentle persuasive approach, crisis intervention, mental health first aid, home exercise program for seniors and many more. I enjoy supporting people and their families. I am a very positive person who loves to laugh and enjoys enhancing the lives of my clients. I also enjoy helping families with household management tasks such as errands, appointments, meal prep and cleaning. I am looking for an afternoon/ evening position in our community.
