From participating in the first year of a two year Licensed Practical Nurse education program, I am well educated in most aspect of general health and personal care. I have been taught how to properly manage personal hygiene; which included bathing, washing hair, trimming nails, shaving, and treating skin conditions. My education also covered dressing, undressing, using lifts, adjusting wheel chairs, checking blood sugar levels, assisting with meals and administering some medications. I reinforced and practiced all these skills during 7 weeks of clinical placement at long term care facilities where I worked with residents with variations of cognitive decline and other disabilities. I have a valid driver's license and a clean criminal record, including a vulnerable sector check. I consider myself to be a very caring person with a passion for helping those in need. I would enjoy the opportunity to get to know your care recipient and assist them with living their life as comfortably and happily as possible.
