My name is Tracy. I would love to care for your mother. I cared for my mother for over a year before she passed away in 2011. I miss her and learned a lot about myself and about my mother during that time. I learned how important it was for my mother to retain her dignity during this time when she could no longer take care of herself. She was still a vital person in the world and my mother and i needed to respect that more than ever now, and i did. I was her companion, her house keeper, cook and her personal care attendant. I watched her favorite tv shows with her, helped bathe her and cooked the meals she liked to eat and allowed her to do as much as she could for herself before helping her do what she could not. it was important for her to be a part of the process not just a bystander. Someone just waiting to die. ( i never left her side or allowed her to do anything i knew she could not do on her own). I knew that was important to her. She had some good days and some bad days. Some days she would not do anything for herself and other days she could do more. I was able to accommodate which ever day that came up with the sunlight and my mother. And I can honestly she had her self respect right til the end. I know these days the elderly are not held in the high esteem they deserve. They are regarded as a nuisance to many and pushed aside. It makes me very sad to see this but I do. I have always had a warm spot in my heart for the elderly and although i have no Formal training I think I would make a very good caregiver for your mother because of my understanding and compassion and ability to feel empathy and love towards the elderly. I want to help, assist, be there to listen or just be still if that's what the want. I love to clean house, I am a pretty good cook, I have a car and can take to appointments if needed a well as run errands. My schedule is flexible and I can work weekends and holidays. I am willing to get an updated CPR card if necessary and would love the opportunity to help take care of your mother.
