Elder Care in Lake Wales, Florida

I used to take care of my mother-in-law for 2 years before she went hospice in late 2015. I enjoyed it, and I miss her very much. Compassion and patience are 2 things many who know me will confirm. My mother always said I had the patience of Job, haha, well, I don't know about that, but I definitely have a lot of it. Realizing patience is a must when dealing with elderly and children especially, it comes easy for me. I have been a homeschooling mom of 3 for many years. My oldest is in engineering school at Florida Polytechnic University, my middle one recently graduated, and my baby is 14. She works will on her own, so I do not anticipate having difficulty balancing caring for someone and the teaching of my child, especially over the summer while school is out. I used to work at a medical equipment company, which doing so kept me in close contact with a lot of elderly and ill patients. One must have compassion and patience to work in such a field. It was a job I very much enjoyed, but my family grew, I had more children, and then solely concentrated on raising them. My sister and brother-in-law own a medical equipment company in Winter Haven and I sub for them from time to time when they are on vacations. So it allows me to briefly jump back into being able to help older folks, disabled, and the sick, by fitting them with compression stockings, getting them a new wheelchair or walker, seeing that they get their oxygen delivered in a timely manner, that sort of thing. My care for my mother-in-law was extensive, so I'm used to that as well. In the early days, it was just making sure she had a safe, clean, uncluttered environment to roam with her walker, her meals, and help with her laundry. It eventually got to the point of needing help with everything from bathing and feeding to oxygen use and catheterization. So what I'm saying is, basically, I've done it all and can do it all.
