As a Dietary Aid at Allendale Long Term Care Facility, I gained experience with many diet types and feeding methods. I have always had a understanding of and respect for the elderly. They have given our younger generations so many lessons and deserve to retain their dignity and class throughout their later years. My personal experience dates back to when both my husband, brother and parents became ill and then palliative. It was a real eye opener to experiencing empathy, understanding and the wide aray of their needs whether medical or emotional.
