Hello, families of Port Coquitlam and Tri-Cities! My name is Serena, and I wish to offer live-out, elder care services in your area. I am seeking part-time work to begin with, but am open to full-time if I find the right family. I have recently changed careers, and have graduated with a Recreation Therapy Assistant Diploma, with a specialization in Gerontology, and my passion is for patients with Dementia. With this education, I have been working in Long Term Care for Vancouver Coastal Health and Private Senior facilities for nearly 1.5 years as a Recreation Therapy Assistant. The reason I am here on Eldercare is that I desire to reduce the volume of clients I currently work with and instead focus on a few, so that I may provide true, client-centered care. With a gentle and patient approach, I would be happy to offer companion services, transportation to and from appointments, and personalized assistance with everyday activities, cleaning, and meal prep. I do not have formal training as a care aide or nurse, but I am happy to provide assistance with bathing, feeding, personal care, toileting, administration of medication, and other medical needs if you are willing to train me. In the past, I have worked in roles where I did provide these kinds of personal services, and I am comfortable doing so. In addition to companionship, I would also strive to learn all I can about your loved one, so that I may use my education to create and provide enjoyable activities to fill their day with meaning. I love music, singing, puzzles, painting, baking, and crafts. I am also happy to take your loved one on social outings if requested. With a deep understanding of the unique needs of seniors, I am dedicated to providing professional and attentive care, tailored to each individual's requirements. My hourly rate is between $30-$35 depending on your needs and the number of hours you require, and I take great pride in the quality of service I provide.
