I would like to apply for the position of a Health Care Aide in your company. I am a caring Health Care professional with experience in different health care setting. I have my Canadian Red Cross First Aid and Level C CPR and Food Handling certificates; as well as all necessary security background clearances. I am also: • Capable of taking patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate and body temperature • Monitor and update record fluid intake and output: collect specimen such as urine, feces or sputum • Able to administer suppositories, enemas and colic irrigations and perform other procedures as directed by nursing and hospital staff • Capable of assisting patients with their daily living activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing and grooming • Motivate the patients to become as independent as possible according to the nursing care plan • Make beds and maintain patients room’s clean as well as supply and empty bed pans • Create good working relation, coordinate or collaborate with other health care providers during work activities • Promote good personal hygiene and performs regular hand washing and observes proper safety measures • Able to assist patients in positioning, lifts and transfers, ambulation and with activities of daily living • Physically fit to perform duties and tasks for a long period of time • Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment for self and patients • Experience in dealing with patients, family members and coworkers with courtesy and respect • Can provide first aid and CPR in emergency situations • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and emails with keyboarding skills of at least 40 words per minute • Abide by the company’s policy, standard procedure and instructions • Uses self motivational strategies to maintain optimum health and overcome stress • Possess good interpersonal relationship using verbal communication to relay information and exchange queries and explaining health concerns to patients
