My name is Alexis Bass-Glidewell. I have a heart of love and compassion towards others. Regardless of age, i believe everyone deserves to be loved and cared for. No one is to be exempt (Young or Old). Growing up in a home surrounded by sickness, i became a caregiver at a young age. Being able to care for your loved ones is an honor and a privilege. God has blessed me through the years and has taught me a lot about what really matters in life...It is not about fame or fortune, but about showing grace, love, hope and mercy to others. I want to make a difference in this world. I have worked as a Caregiver in an Assisted Living Facility as well as private duty positions As a caregiver, i worked 12 hour shifts. (Both day/night shifts) During my time at the ALF and in my private duty jobs, my responsibilities included: *Acting quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency. *Assisting residents with personal care and hygiene - Morning Shift: Getting each resident up, dressed, ensure that teeth/dentures were cleaned, hair combed... -Night Shift: Getting residents undressed and into their pj's, ensure that teeth dentures were cleaned, residents are safe and comfortable for bed. *Assisted residents while bathing. *Assisted residents take their prescribed medication(s). *Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside the perimeter of the house. *Plan and prepare meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) *Perform light housekeeping duties (Washed/Dryed Laundry, dusted, mopped,sanitized all the rooms in the home including the residents rooms & bathrooms. *Drive Residents to the Store and to their appointments. I enjoyed being with my residents very much. Each resident had their own personalities and their own personal preferences. I always tried to meet the needs of each resident so they felt valued and care for. (Although not required, i would do the following things with certain residents - Curled & set hair, blow dried hair, painted nails, toenails, said bedtime prayers, made requested meals/desserts) As an activities coordinator, I would schedule different activities for different days of the week, these activities included, but were not limited to; *Arts & Crafts *Baking *Bingo, Board & Card Games *Exercises *Music *Reminiscing Activities (Go through residents photo albums,watch family videos, shared stories/memories of our loved ones...) *Walks around the property If you are looking for a caregiver/Companion/Sitter for yourself or for a loved one, please consider me...
