Hi I am a warm, caring, loving person with positive, can-do attitude, residential nursing home experience in a palliative care unit for people with terminal conditions including cancer, dementia, heart conditions, Multiple Sclerosis, muscle distrophy, Paralised and needing 24 hour care, support in hygiene, moving and handling with hoists and walking aids, hearing and mentally impaired etc. This experience is from Scotland but I am happy to complete an on the job or prior to the job additional training to satisfy my new employer. I have been responsible for getting 5 residents out of bed, washing them, their dentures, dressing them or assisting with these aspects of their daily life, applying body lotions etc, attending to their emotional and physical needs when buzzed and just because I am passing by their room and care, so I would go and ask how they were and if they needed anything. I cut their nails, helped with feeding, including the liquid/ blended diet for people with MS unable to swallow due to high choking hazard. I would get the paralysed residents ready and put them on the wheelchair for the day then get them ready for breakfast, transfer them to entertainmentvroom, help with lunch and tea, fill out daily condition and eating reports, give them baths/ showers and use hoists or assist with their washroom needs. I would also show lots of empathy, positive, happy and caring attitude, care and do cheer them up as I cared for them. I would hold their hand as they died and family wasn't present too! I am a caring and hard working person. No job is too hard for me, I just want rewarded and respected for my hard work, great attitude and heart I put in to caring for people. I am looking forward to meeting the right family and starting my job, I need assistance with applying for carer's visa and if required can complete any short training that I should. I am a keen learner and like being in a caring role and help people. Helping others has always been a natural and strong part of my personality and life anyway. I am equally caring and good in childcare and will take on a job with housekeeping as part of the job too. Cannot to hear from you.
